This research explores the utilization of an integrative approach in teaching Araling Panlipunan (Philippine Social Studies) in elementary grades. The study investigates the extent of integration, how teachers employ the approach, and the challenges faced in implementation. Through a mixed-methods research design, data were collected from elementary school teachers using interviews and lesson plan analysis. The findings reveal diverse levels of integration among participants, with some teachers infrequently using the approach while others integrate it consistently. The most frequently integrated parts of lessons are Application, Motivation, Discussion, and Assignment, highlighting a focus on real-world application and interactive learning.
Challenges identified include negative attitudes, resource limitations, insufficient training, and weak leadership, which require targeted interventions for improvement. Addressing these challenges can enhance student engagement, motivation, and learning outcomes, contributing to holistic development and critical thinking skills essential for real-world challenges.
